Nicholaston Farm is a family site and accepts families, couples and lone campers.
We do not accept singles groups, or large family groups of more than 3 bookings. Small and responsible adult groups may be permitted at our discretion (by prior arrangement only, please call on 01792 371209 to discuss). If a group is booked online despite this condition, we reserve the right to refuse entry to the entire group and no refunds will be given.
No unsupervised minors or stag/hen parties are permitted on the site.
Regardless of whether separate bookings have been made, members of the same family, and/or friends who book multiple pitches will be considered as a group. This includes any guests that live at the same address, guests that are previously known to each other, guests who are travelling together, or guests who are travelling together for the same purpose such as to or from a local event. You are required to make us aware if you are travelling as part of a group that occupies more than 3 pitches.
If, for whatever reason, you have not made us aware that you are part of a group and arrive in a group, or are pre-known to each other on arrival, we reserve the right to ask you to leave without a refund.
When using any of our site for socialising, you and your party are responsible for adhering to our policies detailed below and treat other guests with respect and consideration at all times during your stay. Please be mindful of noise levels at all times, and particularly after dusk when families are retiring for the night.
We do not offer seasonal pitches at Nicholaston Farm. The maximum length of stay that can be booked online is 14 days. If you wish to stay longer then you should make an additional booking.
Your total stay must not exceed 28 days.
Deposits are taken at the time of booking. For reservations of £80 or less the full balance is taken as a deposit. Where the cost is greater than £80 then a deposit of £80 is payable at the time of booking.
Deposits taken to book pitches become non-refundable 7 days after booking, but see CANCELLATIONS below.
Final payment of the overall booking cost is due 10 days prior to arrival, or on booking where this is within 10 days of your arrival. If this payment is not made in full 10 days prior to arrival we reserve the right to cancel the booking.
You may cancel your reservation within 7 days of making the booking (7-day cooling off period), and receive a full refund of any money paid, by sending an email to [email protected] or by telephoning us on 01792 371209. However, this cooling-off period will not apply if you make your reservation within 10 days of your scheduled arrival at the site.
After the 7-day cooling-off period has expired, if you cancel your booking more than 10 days before your scheduled arrival then you will receive a refund of all money paid except for your deposit of £80, which will be forfeited. If your total booking fee is less than £80 then the full fee is forfeited.
We will not give refunds for cancellation requests received within 10 days of your scheduled arrival.
A request to move your booking to alternative dates received more than 10 days before your scheduled arrival will be arranged without penalty, subject to availability on your proposed alternative dates, and provided there is no reduction in the duration of the re-arranged stay. We reserve the right to charge a penalty of up to £80 if the duration of the stay is reduced, and an administration fee of £22 in the event of a second or subsequent change of dates.
Requests to move bookings to alternative dates received within 10 days of your scheduled arrival will be treated as cancellations within 10 days of arrival, as outlined above.
Please note, we do not insure you against ill health or inclement weather.
In the event that we have to cancel your reservation through closure of Nicholaston Farm Caravan and Camping Site on the instructions of a competent authority then you will receive a full refund of all monies paid to us for that reservation. We will inform you when it is confirmed that we will be unable to open for the date of your scheduled arrival. You may reschedule your booking to another date in the same season providing we have availability for your preferred dates.
Pitches are available from midday on the day of your arrival. They are allocated on a first come first served basis and specific pitches cannot be reserved in advance. Latest arrival time is 9:30pm.
Pitches must be vacated by 11:00am on the day of departure.
Pitches are allocated on a first come first served basis and are not generally marked in the field. Whilst you may book a particular field, we may under certain circumstances have to offer an alternative location.
We ask that due to fire risk and courtesy to other campers that you leave a distance of 6 metres between caravans and motorhomes, and 3 metres between tents.
On arrival, please check in at site shop/reception (or farm office after hours). Access to the field is with a barrier key for which we require a £10 deposit in cash. This is fully refundable on leaving and returning the key.
Barbeques and firepits are permitted providing they are raised off the ground, (we have bricks available on site to assist). We do not allow open fires directly on or in contact with the grass.
A maximum of 2 dogs are allowed per reservation. They must be well controlled and kept on a short lead at all times while they are on site. They should be exercised off site, that is in the woods below the site, on the beach which is dog friendly all year round, or the common land above the campsite.
Your dog(s) is your responsibility and any damage to property belonging to other guests or the campsite, or injury to persons at the site, is your liability.
Due the fact that we are a relatively small site, visitors are only allowed on-site by prior arrangement.

We are a quiet site that accommodates families, and noise levels must be kept down, particularly after dusk.
Music may disturb other campers. If it is played it must be at low volume for your ears only.
Please be respectful of other campers at all times.
We hope that everyone enjoys their stay at Nicholaston Farm. We do not encourage heavy drinking of alcohol, and we do not allow illicit drug use or anti-social behaviour. We reserve the right to ask people to leave if we feel that their behaviour is not appropriate or disrespectful to other campers on site or ourselves. Should we consider that the safety of our guests or staff is at any risk arising from the behaviour of any person or persons on our site then immediate assistance will be requested from the local Police.
The information taken at the time of booking is required to be collected for the purposes of processing your reservation at Nicholaston Farm. We may process your data to keep you informed of our activities and to keep you updated with news, offers and other information that may be of interest to you. If you do not want us to use your information for the marketing purposes described in this paragraph, please let us know.
We may also disclose your data to CampStead Ltd who may contact you, inviting you to complete a questionnaire and review regarding your stay at our park.
